Red Oak Data Center | Ellis County, TX
Data Center Dynamics reported that Google announced a second Texas campus in Red Oak, Ellis County, with an initial $330 million investment and a project cost rising to at least $600 million. Lee McCleary of Red Oak told the Dallas Morning News the data center at 156 N. Austin Blvd. would be about 285,000 square feet and take two years to build. Mayor Mark Stanfill said Red Oak would be home of the newest Google data center in Texas. DCD notes Compass is developing a separate nearby campus at 300 Houston School Road. The Dallas Morning News reported Google planned to invest $1 billion in Texas through data center campuses in [Midlothian](/data-centers/texas/ellis/midlothian) and Red Oak, bringing cumulative Texas investment to $2.7 billion, and restated the $330 million Red Oak start toward more than $600 million at full finish. A TCEQ federal operating-permit notice dated 3 September 2024 names Compass Datacenters Dfw Iii, LLC, Red Oak Datacenter, Red Oak, Ellis County.
