Microsoft SN7 Data Center | Bexar County, TX

The San Antonio Express-News reported in November 2017 that Microsoft bought Chevron’s 34-acre, 202,000-square-foot data center at 5200 Rogers Road on the far West Side, then the company’s fourth owned or under-construction San Antonio hall after a 2005 Westover Hills building and a 158-acre Texas Research Park purchase. Developer Marty Wender told the paper CPS Energy substations had already made the far West Side a hub of about ten data centers. Virtual Builders Exchange later described a 2019–2020 $86 million expansion branded Microsoft Chevron/SN7 COLO 1. Corgan designed a $44 million finish-out of 60,570 square feet in the existing building, then Turner Construction started a $42 million phase of new buildings totaling 104,837 square feet to bring the site to 326,680 square feet on 33.82 acres, with COLO 2 finished, a COLO 3 shell, a connecting corridor, and a target of August 2020. Microsoft and Chevron had entered a seven-year agreement that made Microsoft Chevron’s primary cloud host.
