Overview
Urbanize Dallas reported that Lincoln Property Co., Gigabit Fiber, and Tradition Holdings formed a partnership for a South Dallas data center campus dubbed GigaPop: more than 800,000 square feet across four buildings and up to 540 megawatts of power, on a 131-acre entitled lot at 1745 Stainback Road in Red Oak, Texas, with construction scheduled to commence that quarter. Designed for cloud and artificial intelligence users, the $1 billion project will provide edge colocation, dark fiber, and carrier-class IP transport that Gigabit Fiber CEO Tom Spackman said would benefit other sites underway in the area. Its first component will be a 2 MW facility totaling 7,500 square feet. Urbanize places the site 4 miles east of Interstate 35 and 4 miles west of Interstate 45 along Loop 9, and 24 miles from PowerCampus Dallas in Lancaster. Lincoln Executive Vice President Ryan Sullivan told Urbanize the South Dallas submarket had multiple projects underway that will deliver more than 1.5 gigawatts of capacity, with some 678 megawatts already under construction. The North Texas Semiconductor Innovation Consortium partner page describes the same GigaPop development as a $1 billion, 800,000-square-foot cloud-and-AI facility with construction described as starting in early 2025. The 540 MW figure matches the public map. Ellis County maps DataBank Red Oak and Red Oak on the same corridor.
The public map lists one map record, GigaPop Red Oak, 540 MW, planned. Reported campus capacity is 540 MW.
