Hut 8 King Mountain Data Center | Upton County, TX

Hut 8’s March 2025 operations update lists King Mountain in McCamey, Texas, as Hut 8 (JV) at 280 MW, with bitcoin mining, managed services, and ASIC colocation. Notes on that update say the King Mountain joint venture is 50 percent Hut 8 and 50 percent a Fortune 200 renewable-energy producer, and that managed services includes 280 MW of capacity under management at King Mountain. Vega, then still under construction in the Texas Panhandle, was listed on the same table at 205 MW. Data Center Dynamics, covering the Hut 8 and US Bitcoin merger, said King Mountain would remain 50 percent owned by USBTC’s energy partner King Mountain Joint Venture, and that Hut 8 Corp would manage hosting infrastructure on the site powered by wind and nuclear among other sources. The 280 MW figure on the operations table matches the public map’s single operating hall. King Mountain is Hut 8’s Upton County operating joint-venture pin, not Salt Creek’s 63 MW Reeves County greenfield and not Vega’s 205 MW Oldham County campus. Hut 8 reports the site as a managed-services and ASIC-colocation location as well as self-mining capacity under the 50/50 JV.
