Data Center Dynamics reported on 11 September 2025 that FO Permian Partners outlined plans to provide more than 5 GW of off-grid natural gas power to data centers in the Permian Basin and had secured a 320-acre plot in Midland County for a behind-the-meter gas platform with 150 MW of ready-now capacity. DCD said the 320 acres sit in a larger 3,200-acre tract with claimed access to more than 5 GW of gas supply, that phase one could be operational as early as 2026, and that the site is a collaboration with HiVolt Energy, which would operate custom reciprocating engines supported by a redundant battery system. Co-founder Jose Ortega said the model is meant to move operators from agreement to operation in months. The Midland Reporter-Telegram reported on 15 September 2025 that FO Permian and HiVolt had secured a 320-acre parcel 30 minutes southeast of downtown Midland under option. Davis Farish said the first phase has guaranteed initial delivery of 150 MW of behind-the-meter natural gas, possibly as soon as the following year, with expansion potential to multiple gigawatts. FO Permian’s own news page frames the platform as scalable off-grid Permian power. The Reporter-Telegram placed the optioned 320 acres 30 minutes southeast of downtown Midland and quoted Farish on 150 MW of behind-the-meter gas for phase one, with HiVolt running reciprocating engines and batteries. DCD and FO Permian’s news page both describe the 3,200-acre parent tract and more than 5 GW of claimed gas supply behind that first 150 MW plot.
