Overview

The Lakelander reported that Hill County commissioners approved a reinvestment zone on 10 February 2026 for a Hubbard-area Nexus data-center campus on about 2,000 acres between Highway 171 and County Road 3369 just outside Hubbard. The paper said the development is expected to include four data-center buildings of 400,000 square feet each plus a power plant, that site preparation had been underway since November, and that Nexus senior vice president Megan Claydon told a Hubbard town hall the company would invest billions of dollars in Hill County. Data Center Dynamics reported on 23 June 2026 that Nexus filed with TDLR for Nexus Apex DFW HB1 at 357 HCR 3372 in Hubbard: 491,380 square feet, $400 million, construction January 2026 to October 2027. DCD said Nexus is backed by Transition Equity Partners, that news of a 600 MW gas-powered Hubbard campus surfaced in December, and that Eagle Point closed senior secured financings for Nexus Apex Holdings in March.
