Overview

Data Center Dynamics reported on 15 April 2026 that Granbury residents sued the city after officials voted on 7 April to rezone about 2,100 acres linked to a potential data-center project. DCD identified Bilateral Energy as the company backing the rezoning at 2801 W US Highway 377, known as Knox Ranch, and said the suit alleges the January annexation failed to disclose the connection to plans known as Project Patriot, including a claim that officials staggered a Dallas site-tour to avoid an Open Meetings Act quorum. The suit seeks a pause, revocation of the annexation, and damages. DCD placed Granbury in Hood County southeast of the Fort Worth–Dallas metro and noted Hood County officials had narrowly voted against a data-center moratorium the prior February. AOL coverage described a power plant for a data center on about 2,000 acres in Granbury going to public hearing. Baxtel catalogs Bilateral Energy Project Patriot as a data-center listing. The public map lists one planned map record, Bilateral Energy Knox Ranch Data Center, at 1,200 MW. AWS Comanche Peak is the live Somervell County campus at the nuclear plant next door to Hood County.

The public map lists one map record, Bilateral Energy Knox Ranch Data Center, 1,200 MW, planned. Reported campus capacity is 1,200 MW.
