Overview

Meta broke ground on a Lebanon, Indiana, data-center campus on February 11, 2026, its second Indiana site, 27th U.S. data center, and 31st worldwide. The Meta data-center blog says the campus will span roughly 4 million square feet, represent more than $10 billion invested, support about 4,000 construction jobs at peak and more than 300 operational jobs, and work with Boone Power and Wabash Valley Power Alliance so Meta pays the full cost of energy used. Meta will donate $1 million a year for 20 years to the Boone County Community Trust for energy-bill assistance and partner with The Caring Center on emergency water-bill support for about 500 families. It will restore 100 percent of water consumed to local watersheds and is investing in ecological work on Deer Creek.

Meta’s newsroom described a 1 GW campus designed for both AI workloads and core products, LEED Gold buildings, closed-loop liquid cooling that uses zero water for most of the year, more than $120 million toward water, roads, transmission, and utility upgrades, and an Arable irrigation partnership in the Upper Wabash River Basin restoring 200 million gallons a year for ten years. The City of Lebanon placed the campus at the LEAP Innovation and Research District, with about $45 million in public road improvements, more than $75 million in public water infrastructure, and more than 400 MW of new Indiana energy projects to match use with clean power. Governor Mike Braun and Mayor Matt Gentry announced the groundbreaking with Boone EDC.
