Overview

Amazon Data Services’ Summit Crossing Tech Campus is a planned hyperscale park on the south side of Summit Crossing Road in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, half a mile west of the Caroline County line. Data Center Dynamics reported June 2023 filings for four Amazon campuses totaling more than 10 million square feet in Spotsylvania and Caroline Counties, about $1 billion in each project through about 2035: Summit Crossing, Carter’s Store, Cosner, and Orrock. DCD said Amazon filed to rezone 231 acres at Summit Crossing Road from Rural to Industrial-1 for a data-center campus. The Free Lance-Star’s regional inventory puts Summit Crossing Tech Campus at up to 2.1 million square feet of warehouse space on 231 acres of undeveloped land, with the board already having approved the rezoning. A later DCD Cosner Phase II story listed Summit Crossing among the three other Spotsylvania filings that had no public updates at that time. Spotsylvania siblings already in this directory are Amazon Carter's Store Tech Campus on Flippo Drive and PowerHouse 95 at Cosner’s Corner.
