Overview

Amazon’s Northeast Creek Technology Campus is the company’s second Louisa County, Virginia, data-center park, on the west line of Jefferson Highway (Route 33) east of Desper Creek in the Technology Overlay District. Data Center Dynamics reported a November 2024 Army Corps filing for a 374-acre campus of ten 382,000-square-foot halls, three substations, and logistic and administrative buildings, impacting about one acre of wetlands and just under 2,000 feet of streams. DCD placed that filing beside Amazon’s September 2023 Lake Anna Tech Campus — 153 acres east of Haley Drive and Kentucky Road, up to seven halls totaling 1.7 million square feet — under an August 2022 $11 billion-by-2040 Louisa package. A later DCD story on a proposed third campus north of Northeast Creek Reservoir distinguished that 1,370-acre, 7.2-million-square-foot filing from the two overlay parks already in work; AWS withdrew the third campus in July 2025 after community pushback. That withdrawn pin is Louisa County Campus 3 in this directory; EdgeCore Shannon Hill is the county’s other mapped campus. A Western District of Virginia complaint recites that Amazon began Northeast Creek construction in March 2025 with ten buildings and three substations, completion around 2031. The public map lists one planned 70 MW map record. DCD’s November 2024 Corps filing is the origin for the 374-acre, ten-hall Northeast Creek campus as Amazon’s second Louisa overlay park, distinct from the withdrawn 7.2-million-square-foot third campus. The 2025 withdrawal story is the public record that Campus 3 is canceled while Northeast Creek and Lake Anna remain the two parks in the $11 billion-by-2040 package.
