Overview

Soluna announced on 25 February 2025 that it secured a land-purchase agreement for 60 acres in Texas to build Project Rosa, a data center colocated with a 240 MW wind farm and planned for up to 187 MW in two phases for AI and Bitcoin mining. Data Center Dynamics reported the same 60-acre, 187 MW deal, said Soluna had first announced plans to acquire the site in October, and quoted CEO John Belizaire that securing the land agreements was a critical achievement as Rosa expanded operational capacity. DCD said Rosa would make up 39 percent of Soluna’s then-479 MW seven-site pipeline, the largest of those projects. Renewable Energy World placed the 60-acre purchase in Cameron County and said the campus is named for chemist Rosalind Franklin, whose work was central to DNA structure. Soluna’s Q2 2026 update later said Rosa had grown from 187 MW to 242 MW, was designated for AI workloads, and was advancing through the ERCOT interconnection and transmission process with new power-purchase agreements under negotiation.
