Overview

AWS Keystone Trade Center is Amazon’s planned Falls Township Innovation Campus on a portion of the Keystone Trade Center in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Amazon announced plans to invest at least $20 billion in Pennsylvania cloud and AI infrastructure, naming Salem Township and Falls Township as the first sites and 1,250 new high-skilled jobs. Governor Josh Shapiro called it the largest private-sector investment in Pennsylvania history and said workers would build the first two campuses in Luzerne County and Bucks County. Amazon’s Pennsylvania project site describes an approximately 250-acre campus on the redeveloped Keystone Trade Center, with active construction. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Amazon Data Services developing that 250-acre campus on the former U.S. Steel property, with about 2 million square feet across 10 buildings, and that Amazon needs a permit for hundreds of natural-gas backup generators. Shapiro’s August 2026 executive order removed data-center projects, including Amazon’s, from the state’s fast-track permitting program and requires local approval for state permits. The Inquirer said the township approved the campus in March 2025, that Amazon already has local and state approvals for the first of two expected phases, and that Amazon applied to install 280 natural-gas critical backup generator engines at 4,287 horsepower each.
