Overview

Hut 8 announced on 30 June 2025 initial energization of Vega: 162,000 square feet, 205 MW nameplate energy capacity, PUE 1.06, powered behind-the-meter by a wind farm and front-of-the-meter by ERCOT, supporting up to about 15 EH/s of BITMAIN U3S21EXPH servers. The Nasdaq-syndicated release is dated 30 June 2025. Data Center Dynamics reported the same energization, that Hut 8 acquired the Texas Panhandle site in July 2024, that Bitmain is the client for the full about-15 EH/s deployment under an ASIC colocation agreement, and that proprietary rack-based direct-to-chip liquid cooling is rated up to 180 kW per rack. Hut 8’s March 2025 operations update listed Vega in the Texas Panhandle at 205 MW, then still under construction, alongside King Mountain at 280 MW. The 205 MW nameplate figure matches the public map, as does the Panhandle location on that operations table. Vega is Hut 8’s Oldham County operating pin, not King Mountain in Upton County and not Salt Creek in Reeves County. Oldham County has no other mapped campus in this directory besides this Hut 8 Vega campus pin.
