Overview

Soluna’s announcement that it had surpassed one gigawatt of clean-computing projects launched Project Fei as a 100 MW data center colocated with a 240 MW utility-scale solar farm in northern Texas, the company’s second solar-based project, developed in partnership with a global energy-infrastructure investor to convert underutilized solar into high-performance computing. Soluna’s FY2025 Form 10-K lists Fei in Childress County at 100 MW in development for Bitcoin hosting or AI/HPC on solar and said the company had signed a term sheet for power while land acquisition, power-contract negotiation, and ERCOT interconnection planning continued. The July 2026 monthly update said Soluna had secured the Fei land, was finalizing PSA negotiations, and had begun capital-formation and construction-design work as ERCOT interconnection studies neared completion. A May 2026 update said Fei was advancing outside ERCOT’s Large Flexible Load batch on a sub-75 MW interconnection pathway to shorten the development timeline. Soluna’s Q2 2026 highlights later said Fei had grown from 120 MW to 240 MW and was designated for AI workloads; the mapped Childress County hall remains 100 MW. IREN Childress is the operating 750 MW campus in the same county, where IREN delivered Horizon 1 to Microsoft under a $9.7 billion, 200 MW IT-load contract.
