Overview

IREN’s Childress page lists 750 MW of total capacity on 576 acres in Childress, Texas, with dual fiber paths and on-site substations owned by IREN, connected to ERCOT. IREN announced a multi-year Microsoft agreement valued at about $9.7 billion to deliver GPU cloud infrastructure in liquid-cooled data centers under construction at the 750 MW Childress campus. GPUs deploy in four phases through 2026 (Horizon 1 through 4) for 200 MW of critical IT load on a five-year contract with 20 percent prepayment, expected to contribute roughly $1.94 billion in annualized run-rate revenue once fully commissioned. IREN also entered an agreement with Dell to purchase GPUs and ancillary equipment for about $5.8 billion. Data Center Dynamics reported on 17 August 2026 that IREN delivered Horizon 1, the first of four 50 MW IT-load direct-to-chip liquid-cooled buildings for Microsoft at Childress, and that at full build-out Childress is set to offer 750 MW across 576 acres, previously used for cryptomining. Co-CEO Daniel Roberts credited more than 3,000 people on the site team and said Horizons 2 through 4 were scheduled later in 2026. The public map lists one operating map record, IREN Childress (Bitcoin mining), at 750 MW. Soluna Project Fei is Childress County’s other mapped campus.
