Overview

Argo Blockchain announced on 5 May 2022 that its Helios facility in Dickens County had been energized, with mining expected to commence the following week. Phase 1 would use 200 MW of power capacity, and Helios had access to up to an additional 600 MW for later phases. Galaxy’s 6 July 2026 newsroom post said it completed delivery of Phase I at the Helios data center campus in West Texas, delivering approximately 200 MW of gross power — 133 MW of critical IT load — to CoreWeave under a 15-year lease, with rent commencement in the second quarter of 2026. Galaxy said greenfield work is underway on 260 MW of critical IT for Phase II, with data-hall deliveries expected in the first half of 2027, that CoreWeave has committed to 526 MW of critical IT across Phases I through III against 800 MW of gross power then approved and contracted, and that the campus spans more than 2,200 acres with approved power expanded to 1.63 GW. Data Center Dynamics reported the same Phase I completion and said Galaxy acquired the campus from Argo in late 2022 for about $65 million after Argo broke ground in July 2021 and started cryptomining in May 2022.
