Phoenix El Mirage Data Center | El Mirage, AZ

El Mirage in western Maricopa County has become a West Valley data-center node north of Goodyear and west of Glendale. The Arizona Republic reported Compass Datacenters building three single-story 208,000-square-foot halls on nearly 121 acres at El Mirage Road and Peoria Avenue, just north of City Hall, on land bought from Dermody for more than $79 million after a 2023 site-plan approval, with opening described for 2027. Data Center Dynamics separately reported Microsoft filing to expand its El Mirage campus at 12901 West Olive Avenue with a fifth building, PHX-83, served by an existing Arizona Public Service on-site substation. DCD said PHX-83 is a 245,500-square-foot hall with five data halls, that PHX-80 is operating while PHX-81 and PHX-82 were under construction, and that Microsoft first bought 150 acres in El Mirage in 2019. Microsoft launched Azure West US 3 in Phoenix in 2021 and has added El Mirage acreage since 2019, including a later 280-acre purchase. Luke Air Force Base lies immediately north.
