NTT Global Data Centers filed in June 2023 for a joint federal and state permit from the Norfolk District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to build a Gainesville campus at 14210 and 14300 John Marshall Highway in Prince William County. Data Center Dynamics reported the NTT VA10 Grove at Gainesville plan as four two-story halls and infrastructure on about 104 acres, matching a June 2022 announcement of a 336 MW, more-than-two-million-square-foot campus that would be NTT’s largest in the United States, with the first two-story building then aimed at the second quarter of 2024. NTT acquired 103 acres from Lerner Enterprises for a reported $257.4 million after Southview 66 and Gainesville JM gained 2021 rezoning of the former mall site as the I-66 and U.S. 29 Technology Park. A later DCD story said NTT’s Global Data Centers unit signed four U.S. capacity commitments totaling 115 MW across Gainesville, Chicago, and Sacramento, including a 90 MW-plus hyperscale deployment at VA11. DCD listed VA11 at 7251 Grove Hill Boulevard as 96 MW across 300,000 square feet, due live in early 2027, still inside the 336 MW Gainesville campus.
