Overview

Google opened its first company-built data center in The Dalles, Oregon, in 2006. The Columbia River campus became the starting point for the company’s owned data-center development and later expanded with additional local facilities. Construction of a fourth facility at The Dalles began in 2015.

Google reports more than $7 billion invested in Oregon. It also says its Oregon programs have helped more than 124,000 residents build digital skills, while the company and its employees have provided more than $35 million in philanthropic support since 2004. Employee volunteering in the state has exceeded 28,000 hours since 2008. These statewide community figures accompany the company’s account of its long-running operations at The Dalles.

The dates distinguish two milestones in the campus history: the 2006 opening of the first company-built data center and the 2015 start of construction on the fourth local facility. The investment, skills, philanthropy, and volunteer totals describe Google’s broader Oregon presence rather than an allocation to any single hall. The public map treats The Dalles as an operating three-building campus with 305 MW reported, providing a current building census alongside Google’s statewide and historical account.

The public map lists 3 map records. Reported campus capacity is 305 MW. All 3 buildings are operating.
