Overview

AWS Powerline Road is the Umatilla portion of Amazon Web Services’ eastern Oregon data-center footprint. An Oregon Department of Energy presentation dated February 27, 2026, identified AWS cloud hyperscale facilities in Boardman, Hermiston, and Umatilla. It placed those operations within an Oregon inventory of approximately 61 cloud hyperscale data centers that also includes Google at The Dalles and Apple and Meta in Prineville.

Powerline Road is represented here as its own Umatilla County operating group rather than as a name for every AWS site in the Columbia Basin. The Boardman and Hermiston references describe other locations in the regional AWS footprint. AWS Lewis & Clark Dr and AWS Threemile are the linked Morrow County entries for that broader cluster; they are separate campuses from Powerline Road.

The state presentation supplies the statewide count, operator distribution, and city-level geography. The public map supplies the campus-level building census for Powerline Road: three operating structures totaling 206.4 MW. No per-building development narrative is added beyond those records. Taken together, the sources identify an operating Umatilla AWS group within a multi-city eastern Oregon network and distinguish it from Google’s Oregon campus and the Prineville facilities operated by Apple and Meta.
