Overview

The public map’s New Albany Data Center Socrates North pin is the northern Meta / Sidecat load in Licking County, Ohio, tied to Williams’ behind-the-meter Socrates North generating plant. The Ohio Power Siting Board on September 18, 2025 authorized a 200 MW natural-gas facility that will operate off-grid to serve an adjacent data center; Will-Power OH will build it on 20 acres in the New Albany International Business Park and Sidecat, a Meta Platforms affiliate, will take the power, under 30 conditions in case 25-188-EL-BGN. Data Center Dynamics, covering the matching Socrates South approval, said Williams planned two 200 MW generation sites at about $1.6 billion with two 24-inch gas pipelines and a substation for the adjacent hall on Sidecat’s 740-acre campus. The Columbus Dispatch placed Socrates North on the south side of Green Chapel Road between Clover Valley Road and U.S. Route 62 while Socrates South sits on Morse Road east of Beech Road. Licking County’s other mapped campuses are Socrates South, Meta New Albany, AWS Beech Road, and prior-batch EdgeConneX New Albany. The public map lists one planned 200 MW map record. OPSB’s September 2025 Socrates North order is the plant-approval origin for the northern 200 MW pin; DCD’s South story supplies the $1.6 billion two-site Williams program and Sidecat offtake that both pins share.
