Overview

Data Center Dynamics reported on June 16, 2026, that Amazon pledged a $10 billion investment in its upcoming data-center campus in Montgomery County, Missouri, announced June 15, including $3 million for local emergency dispatch, $3 million in community programs, and $1 million for a new community gathering space. DCD said Amazon is working with Ameren Missouri so costs are not passed to other ratepayers and has invested in a 138 MW renewable energy project in Missouri. The campus, dubbed Project Green, is set for 1,000 acres in New Florence in the northeast quadrant of the Interstate 70 and Highway 19 interchange. Filings described two phases: eight data-center buildings first, with a further 13 buildings of similar size possible, plus stormwater ponds, three wells, and a wastewater and water-treatment plant. Montgomery County’s Project Green page hosts the industrial-development resolution, Chapter 100 bond order, cost-benefit analysis, infrastructure funding agreement, water memoranda, landscape exhibit, site plan, and an Amazon Web Services presentation. David Zapolsky, Amazon’s chief global affairs and legal officer, said the company has been in Missouri since 2017 with more than 10,000 Missourians working there.
