Overview
Data Center Dynamics reported a 1 GW data center proposed on a 500-acre site in Page, Arizona, after the Page City Council voted 5-2 to sell the land to Huntley LLC. DCD’s November 24, 2025 story places the planned campus near Horseshoe Bend in Coconino County, some 275 miles north of Phoenix on Arizona’s border with Utah, and says a feasibility study will run before the sale closes. City documents, as quoted by DCD, say the buyer intends to seek permits for a 1 GW campus and potentially an on-site energy project. The buying price was $14,000 per acre, or $7 million, and some $10 billion could be invested in the project. DCD notes that names and addresses in city documents link Huntley LLC to Hollybrook, a UK real-estate firm, that local reports also name a UK firm going by Rooskey, and that Arup Engineering is involved. Negotiations with a “household name” to lease the site were ongoing in September, when news of the Page targeting first surfaced.
The Arizona Center for Investigative Reporting’s fact brief answers yes: in October 2025, Page’s mayor and Council members voted to sell 500 acres of recreational land for a proposed data center near Horseshoe Bend. Under the agreement, Huntley LLC must secure its own water and power, including a closed-loop cooling system that continuously recycles water. AZCIR reports intense local opposition over water and power supplies, tourism, and noise and light on undeveloped ground.
DCD records a Change.org petition against the project past 1,475 signatures and more than 400 signatures toward a referendum that would veto the Council vote and put the sale to residents. Councilwoman Debi Roundtree, who voted for the sale, told Fox, as quoted by DCD, that the agreement lets the city step away, including a right to repurchase the land at the original price if required conditions are not met. A recall effort targeting several Council members, including Roundtree and Mayor Steve Kidman, was also in progress. Page was founded in 1957 as housing for workers on Glen Canyon Dam; the dam, launched in 1964, offers 1.32 GW of capacity.
The public map lists one planned map record. Reported campus capacity is 1,000 MW.
