Overview

AWS Jeffersonville is Amazon’s planned data-center campus in Jefferson Township, Fayette County, Ohio. Data Center Dynamics reported Amazon Data Services acquiring about 590 acres there for just over $102 million from Martin Land Co., citing the Record Herald on a 589.843-acre purchase. NBC4 reported the Fayette County auditor recorded two parcels bought on January 15 along Interstate 71 between State Route 729 and U.S. 35, on either side of Dayton Power and Light and a Honda plant: just over 243 acres for about $60.2 million and 346.8 acres for about $42.2 million. An Amazon representative told NBC4 that AWS plans to invest $5 billion in Fayette County by 2030, that construction was expected to begin in early 2025, and that AWS expected to create more than 100 jobs in the county over five years. NBC4 said the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel had protested at FERC an agreement between Dayton Power and Light and Amazon that referenced a Jefferson Township data center, with network upgrades estimated around $22.8 million. The land sits near the Midwest Mega Commerce Center, which Ohio Certified Sites describes as bordered by two major highways and a short-line railway with a 26-inch high-pressure natural-gas line on site.
