Overview

Applied Digital’s Polaris Forge 1 AI Factory Campus in Ellendale, Dickey County, North Dakota, is a CoreWeave-leased hyperscale build beside the company’s earlier crypto and HPC footprint. Data Center Dynamics reported Ready for Service on Phase I of Building 2, delivering 75 MW and bringing live campus capacity to 175 MW, with full build-out contracted at 400 MW of critical IT load under long-term leases after CoreWeave expanded from 250 MW to an $11 billion, 15-year take of the whole campus. Applied Digital’s July 1, 2026 release said Building 2 Phase 1 arrived on schedule after the first 100 MW building and that Polaris Forge 1 demonstrates the company’s AI Factory delivery model in Ellendale, where it has operated since 2021. An earlier DCD note said Building 1 finished in two 50 MW phases and that Applied Digital still operates the separate 180 MW ELN01 crypto facility in Ellendale. The public map lists Polaris Forge 1 Buildings 2 and 3 as planned halls totaling 420 MW. Ellendale sits in southern North Dakota near the South Dakota line. Applied Digital said Polaris Forge 1 is fully leased and that delivering Building 2 Phase 1 on time validates the AI Factory execution model the company is scaling beyond Ellendale. DCD’s first-building story said CoreWeave’s take of the full 400 MW followed an initial 250 MW commitment.

The public map lists 2 map records. Reported campus capacity is 420 MW. All 2 buildings are planned.
