Overview

Amazon’s Ridgeland campus is the West County Line Road / Highland Colony Parkway half of AWS’s Madison County, Mississippi, program, the other half being the Madison Mega Site near Canton. Amazon’s January 25, 2024 release said AWS would invest $10 billion in two Madison County industrial-park complexes, the largest capital investment in state history, creating at least 1,000 jobs with the Madison County Economic Development Authority. Data Center Dynamics reported the April 2026 step-up to $25 billion statewide, with Project Atlas in Madison County raised to $11 billion across about 1,700 acres in two parks and power from Entergy Mississippi. WLBT placed the Ridgeland hall along West County Line Road as a $10.5 billion build, with AWS putting about $37 million into Ridgeland water and sewer and $26.4 million of public projects repaid from AWS property tax; the first five West County Line buildings were slated to come online in 2028. Mississippi Today quoted AWS saying the Ridgeland site was in early construction with a similar footprint to Canton’s five operating buildings, using city water of about 93 million gallons a year and a 10 percent capacity increase from that $37 million. The public map lists Buildings 5, 6, and 7 as three planned 74.3 MW halls totaling 222.9 MW. WLBT’s April 2026 Reeves announcement put construction about halfway complete at Ridgeland and Canton, with AWS economic-development lead Roger Wehner saying Ridgeland would use cooling water only about 9 percent of the year. Madison County Economic Development Authority director Joey Deason told WLBT four Ridgeland buildings were under construction with a fifth pad poured, expected on the tax rolls in 2027.
