Overview

OpenAI announced on October 30, 2025, a new Stargate campus in Saline Township, Michigan, as part of its 4.5 GW partnership with Oracle. Combined with six previously announced U.S. Stargate sites with Oracle and SoftBank, OpenAI said the project brings Stargate to over 8 GW of planned capacity and more than $450 billion in investment over three years. OpenAI said Related Digital is developing the campus, with construction expected to begin in early 2026, creating more than 2,500 union construction jobs, using closed-loop cooling, and that DTE Energy will serve the site using existing excess transmission capacity, with upgrades funded by the project rather than local ratepayers. CNBC reported that OpenAI and Oracle held an official groundbreaking for a $16 billion Stargate campus in Saline Township on June 1, 2026, with construction already underway and the exterior of one building nearly complete. Related Digital Chairman Jeff Blau told CNBC Related expects to deliver Stargate Michigan at the end of 2027. CNBC said the Related Digital release places the project on 250 acres southwest of Ann Arbor in Washtenaw County, with three 550,000-square-foot single-story buildings, and that OpenAI, Oracle, Related Digital, and partners agreed to contribute $10 million to the Saline Recreation Center. Michigan’s other mapped campus in this directory is Project Cannoli.

The public map lists 2 map records. Reported campus capacity is 933.4 MW. All 2 buildings are planned.
