Amazon’s Lake County, Indiana, campus in Hobart is part of the company’s broader Indiana data-center program. Amazon announced an $11 billion Indiana investment covering St. Joseph County and related Midwest capacity, called that plan the largest capital investment in Indiana history, and said it would create at least 1,000 jobs. AWS pledged up to $7 million toward road work around that development. Data Center Dynamics reported county-level approvals for the New Carlisle project in that same Indiana program, including a 10-year 50 percent property-tax abatement and a $143 million community enhancement agreement.
