Overview

Prime Data Centers broke ground on a $1 billion campus at 1600 East Higgins Road in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, on November 15, 2022. The development is in the O’Hare market. Prime held the ceremony with Elk Grove Village Mayor Craig Johnson and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and identified ComEd, Clune Construction, and Gensler among the project partners.

Prime’s announcement described a three-building program totaling 750,000 square feet and 175 MW. ORD-01 was the first building and was marketed for a single hyperscale tenant. Those announcement figures describe Prime’s campus program at groundbreaking. The public map lists one mapped pin, ORD Campus, at 252 MW planned; that single-row census is the directory record below rather than three mapped halls.

Prime Data Centers ORD01-01 is the related building-level entry for the same East Higgins Road development, not a different Elk Grove Village campus. The campus page keeps the investment, address, partners, and the announcement’s three-building program as source context. The building page supplies more detail about the first hall and later extension. Construction status and capacity follow the source attached to each entry, so the announcement program and the mapped pin are read at those respective scopes.

The public map lists one map record, ORD Campus, 252 MW, planned. Reported campus capacity is 252 MW.
