Cowboy State Daily reported on 8 July 2026 that Wyoming’s largest data-center filing, once called Project Jade, is now Project Tembo and that Google is the owner through Jupiter Star Holdings, a wholly owned subsidiary, on a 716-acre campus eight miles south of Cheyenne in Switchgrass Industrial Park. Planning documents describe four large-scale halls, an office hub, logistics and network buildings, and new access off U.S. 85, with a planned 2031 completion. Deeds name the Lazy D Grazing Association and Boyd and Allison Meyer. Google replaced Crusoe after Crusoe told Bloomberg it had been asked to pause; Tallgrass Energy said the project remained full steam ahead on a bring-your-own generation hub, and Black Hills Energy confirmed it is a partner. Google’s application says Tallgrass will combine Black Hills Energy, fuel cells, and its power plant at a substation serving the campus, with on-site wastewater in evaporative lagoons. Data Center Dynamics reported Google as the customer behind a 2.7 GW campus near Cheyenne. A 30 June site-plan amendment filed with Laramie County Planning named Google in the first sentence. Jupiter Star also noticed a 32.83-acre office-support facility that was not in Project Jade’s original conditional-use permit, with an 13 August commission hearing. Cheyenne LEADS has tracked a wave of additional data-center interest in Laramie County. This Laramie County pin is Google’s Tembo / former Jade campus, not other Cheyenne hyperscale parks that still lack a matching newsroom brief on this directory.
