Overview

Vantage Data Centers broke ground on the Lighthouse campus in Port Washington, Wisconsin, as part of Oracle and OpenAI’s Stargate program. Data Center Knowledge reported a $15 billion investment, four data centers on 674 acres, 902 MW of IT capacity, closed-loop cooling, and zero-emission energy capacity, Vantage’s first Wisconsin complex about 30 minutes from Milwaukee. Construction of an $8 billion first phase is by Whiting-Turner, The Weitz Company, Michels Corporation, and a Turner Construction–McCarthy joint venture, with completion expected in 2028. Stargate also lists Texas campuses in Abilene, Shackelford County, and Milam County, plus New Mexico and Ohio sites, inside a broader 10 GW, $500 billion build. Construction Dive, covering the same Port Washington groundbreaking, said crews began the first phase before year-end 2025, that Weitz described four halls on 672 acres with nearly 1 GW of computing capacity, and that work includes about $175 million in local water and power facilities plus wastewater and sewer upgrades. Vantage hosted the ceremony with Port Washington Mayor Ted Neitzke and Milwaukee building-trades officials.
