Overview

TeraWulf announced on May 26, 2026, that it acquired the Muskie Data Campus in eastern Kentucky from Industrial Equity Partners as a hyperscale HPC development site expected to support more than 1 gigawatt of data-center capacity over time. The company said delivery of the initial 500 MW is expected to ramp beginning in the second half of 2028, with an additional 500 MW targeted for the second half of 2030. The Muskie Data Campus site places the project on about 285 acres inside EastPark Industrial Park in Grayson, Kentucky, with first data-hall energization expected by the end of 2028, on a former coal-mining site marketed for a major industrial tenant for more than 25 years. TeraWulf said Kentucky Power, an AEP company, is constructing a 345 kV substation connected to the existing 765 kV transmission network, that the site is already zoned for its intended use, and that energy service agreements were executed concurrently with the acquisition under the Industrial General Service tariff for large loads. WKYT reported the same 500 MW / 2030 ramp and quoted Boyd and Greenup county judge-executives saying Muskie will pay the full standard industrial rate with no discounts, subsidies, or special exemptions, and that about 94 percent of related transmission-upgrade costs are expected to be allocated outside Kentucky.
